SIMA

SIMA, Tunisian 22 year old artist. My artistic Journey began since childhood and has evolved into a fluid
and intuitive practice centered on self-discovery, and perception of the world. My works are deeply connected to intuition;
what i feel through my vision, this is expressed through color, often fluid lines lines that symbolyse a continuos mouvement of energy,
and/ or concentrated blocks of lines focused on intensity. Working across mixed media, including film, abstract photography,
acrylic, watercolor, oil, and ink; my artistic process is ever evolviong.
Through my art, I seek to translate the unseen, transforming emotion and experience into visual
form and inviting the viewers into my world of introspection.

Red Ant
There was a saying my mother told me
Be kind to those who hurt you, because they’re hurting inside.
And so I gave, and learned to forgive.
And time revealed big emptiness.
I grew a little older, in illness, asked my mother to give me a word of advice.
She said; don’t let the ants walk all over you.
Harmed by my cognition, I conformed to their colony so I could live.
Until I metamorphosed. Brave I grew wings and flew away.
There was a look in my mother’s eyes I’d never forget.
Dark circles of hunger where passion laid.
Time revealed, my skin pealed, I found myself a red ant.
When I came back to my mother’s nest, I felt estranged to my colony.
Untill I found hints of red under their dark shells.
My mother too has wings,
They broke in the shelter she held.
